During childhood, our minds are best described as perfectly clean slates. The subconscious, at this age, has not yet been cluttered by adult habits and behaviors and other distractions that will promote or inhibit personality development. For example, you see children getting smarter as they grow older, as evidenced by their ability to learn complex tasks, such as crawling, walking, talking, eating with spoon and fork, and many others.
